Twenty-Nine Remain In Contention For William Hill Super Saturday’s Feature Race
Europe’s most valuable handicap hurdle, The William Hill Hurdle, is set to take place on William Hill Super Saturday on February 7th. With a total prize fund of £155,000, the competitive handicap has seen twenty-nine left in the race following the latest acceptance stage.Â
Leading trainer Dan Skelton seeks a first victory in this year’s renewal of the Wiliam Hill Hurdle. He has four entered in the race, including Live Conti, seven-time winner Knickerbockerglory, 2023 Cheltenham Festival winner Faivoir and Let It Rain, the current 10/3 favourite with sponsors William Hill.Â
Top of the weights with a mark of 148, Joe Tizzard’s Unibet Greatwood Hurdle winner Alexei is currently a 14/1 chance for owners Brocade Racing.Â
Warren Greatrex is in pursuit of a local victory with the progressive six-year-old All In You after his Sandown success, which saw him reverse the form with Anthony Honeyball’s Dance And Glance.
The training partnership of Jonjo and A.J. O’Neill could be represented by two runners in Wreckless Eric, last seen finishing ninth in the Coral Lanzarote Handicap Hurdle, and Wellington Arch. Meanwhile, Christian Williams has a sole entry in Williethebuilder, who would turn up here in form following two consecutive wins at Kempton.Â
Other notable contenders include Grade 3 Coral Racing Club Intermediate Handicap Hurdle winner Tutti Quanti, trained by Paul Nicholls for owner Colm Donlon. Fergal O’Brien sends forward Serious Challenge, who completed a hat-trick last season and returned to winning ways at Haydock last month, whilst Un Sens A La Vie could also take his chance following a recent success for the Nigel and Willy Twiston-Davies team. Having finished third in this race in 2024 and seventh in 2025, Olly Murphy’s Go Dante may line up once again and features among the outsiders at present.
