Mealtimes at the Rocking Horse Nursery are a social time for the children to develop healthy habits with their friends.

 

All of our nutritionally-balanced meals are freshly cooked on-site every day by the talented team of chefs based at the Racecourse.

Wherever possible we source our produce locally with all special dietary requirements accommodated.

We use mealtimes as an opportunity to talk about healthy eating and encourage positive social skills and eating habits.

We supply all the formula feeds up to when the child is a year old and work with parents when they start being weaned, always catering to any special diets or requirements.

What's on the menu?

We offer the children (depending on their attendance) the following meals:​

Breakfast

Choice of cereals

Morning Snack

Variety of fresh fruit

Lunch

Two course meal with hot main* and pudding. 

Example of hot mains: Cheesy penne pasta with yellow peppers and sundried tomatoes, Potato and spinach sag aloo served with naan bread and rice, roast chicken served with a medley of vegetables, roast potatoes with gravy.

Example of puddings: Greek yoghurt with blackberry compote, Fresh berry mousse with a biscuit crumb & Apple & cinnamon crumble.

Afternoon Tea

Can include sandwiches, soup of the day with a crusty roll served with crudites and fresh fruit.

Choice of cereals.

We change the lunch menu three to four times a year and send the new menus out to our parents for consultation prior to implementation.
