Accessibility
Yes, the Racecourse is fully accessible.
The Racecourse offers accessible tickets to all of its racedays which entitle a complimentary ticket for a personal assistant.
Yes, accessible toilets are available in all of the Racecourse’s buildings and stands which can be accessed via a radar key.
These radar keys can be collected from the reception in Berkshire Stand or from any bar or restaurant while our accessible racegoers are welcome to use their own key.
Yes, Newbury Racecourse offers dedicated accessible parking.
All of our car parks have accessible parking spaces but we’d recommend racegoers requiring accessible parking head for Car Park 4 in the first instance.
Parking in Car Park 4 is on level tarmac with drop kerbs to the entry gates. Where parking may not be available in Car Park 4 we will endeavour to find the most suitable parking space, as close to the gates as possible.
Please note that Car Park 1, which is located in the Centre of the Course, is a grass parking surface.
Accessible tickets can be purchased online (please use the ‘Concession & Accessible’ tab on the raceday you’re looking to purchase tickets for.
Accessible tickets can also be purchased over the phone on 01635 40015 and on the gate on a raceday.
However, the earlier you book an accessible ticket the better deal you’ll get.
Unfortunately, Newbury Racecourse station does not have a lift, only a pedestrian bridge.
If you are travelling eastbound you’ll need to leave the platform at the Racecourse’s station and turn left on Hambridge Road and then pass over the small railway bridge.
If you are travelling westbound you will need to take a service which stops at the main Newbury station and from there either embark an eastbound train or take a taxi.
Improved accessibility access can be found at the main Newbury station, from which taxis are available to make the short journey to the Racecourse.
The Racecourse doesn’t currently have any changing places toilets on-site.
However if you require this facility please do let us know by calling in advance and we’ll do our best to help.
Yes, mobility scooters and powered chairs are permitted on-site.
The Racecourse is equipped with induction loops at all entrances and on the ground floor of both the Berkshire and Grandstand.
Upon request, the Racecourse will take steps to provide accessible information on USB flash drives and large print.
If you require a T loop service for a hospitality box or event please let us know.
Yes, accessible viewing platforms are available on the 1st floor of the Berkshire stand, the first floor of the Grandstand, and at the winning post.
Yes, and this can be viewed within the Accessibility section of About Newbury.
Yes, service animals are welcomed at the Racecourse.
Please contact us directly if you wish to bring a dog in training as this may not always be possible on our busier days.
As it stands, the Racecourse does not offer BSL interpreter services but the Racecourse will be happy to review this should there be increased demand from racegoers.
Yes, accessible tickets – which grant admission for an individual with accessibility requirements and a complimentary personal assistant ticket – are available for every raceday.
Yes, the Racecourse offers a dedicated viewing platform for those racegoers with accessible requirements.
Betting
Bets can be made in a number of places across the Racecourse – both in the Premier and Grandstand Enclosures.
There are number of Tote kiosks and booths located across the site while there are William Hill outlets in both the Dubai Duty Free Grandstand and Berkshire Stand.
On on-course bookmakers are also located on the rails.
The Racecourse also offers free Wi-Fi for those looking to place bets online.
There are lots of different types of bets available to be placed on a raceday.

If you win a bet on a raceday but don’t or are unable to collect your winnings on the day you’ll be able to do so at a future raceday.

A Premier Enclosure ticket gives access to the most indoor seating.
Yes, there is outdoor seating available in both the Grandstand and Premier Enclosure as well as adjacent to all of the Racecourse’s stands.
A Premier Enclosure ticket gives access to the most outdoor seating.
All three of the Racecourse’s stands (Dubai Duty Free Grandstand, Berkshire Stand, Hampshire Stand) offer covered terraced standing.
A Premier Enclosure ticket grants access to the most covered terraced standing spaces.
On Weatherbys Super Sprint (July) and BetVictor Hungerford Day (August) the live music which follows the racing will take place in front of the Grandstand.
For other racedays which feature an afterparty or live music this will typically take place adjacent to the East Entrance.
Yes, Newbury Racecourse is a cashless site with all food and drink only available to purchase via card/contactless payment.
However, cash is accepted by the Tote and the on-course bookmakers.
Yes, for those who would like to place bets using cash; cash can be accessed via cash machines across the Racecourse.

While the Racecourse doesn’t have its own app it features prominently on the Raceday Ready app.

Yes, the Racecourse will typically broadcast other live sporting events on screens across the Racecourse for racegoers to enjoy.
Enclosures
Two, Newbury Racecourse has both a Premier and Grandstand Enclosure.
Racegoers at Newbury Racecourse can take their pick between two enclosures – Premier or Grandstand.
Newbury’s Premier Enclosure – which is open on all racedays – provides the best view of the racing action and grants ultimate access.
The Racecourse’s Grandstand Enclosure – which is open on weekend racedays and on selected Friday fixtures – offers the original raceday experience with tickets available for a lower price.

The price of tickets depends on the raceday itself.
However, for racedays when both enclosures are open, tickets in the Grandstand will be lower priced than Premier Enclosure tickets.

Under 18s go Free
Yes, Under 18s go free to 29 of Newbury’s 31 racedays each year.
Under 18s are required to buy a ticket – at a heavily discounted rate – for Newbury’s two music racedays each year.
Under 4s go free to all racedays.
Yes, Under 4s go free to all racedays and do not require a ticket.
Those aged under 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult (over the age of 18) to be able to attend racing at Newbury.
A 18-24 Membership offers access to every single raceday at Newbury Racecourse for just £99.

A number of our racegoers choose to wear fancy dress when attending one of our racedays.
Non-offensive fancy dress is welcomed in our Grandstand Enclosure.

No, there isn’t a specific dress code for Members.
We just ask that Members wear their Members’ badge at all times to ensure they can seamlessly access their exclusive facilities and spaces.
No, no dress code applies for Under 12s in any of the Racecourse’s spaces.

WHAt to Bring
Racegoers are able to bring a sealed bottle of water (500ml) into the Racecourse.
Please note, bringing any other food and drink into the Racecourse isn’t permitted.
Many of our racegoers choose to enjoy a picnic within their car in our car parks before racing. If you would like space external to your car to enjoy a picnic, please contact the Racecourse directly.
Please note, picnics may not be brought into the Racecourse itself.
Those joining us in one of our hospitality spaces can request to bring in decorations, balloons or a cake (or similar) and we ask this is done by emailing hospitality@newburyracecourse.co.uk.
Unfortunately, those with general admission tickets are not able to request to bring in decorations, balloons or a cake (or similar).
Yes, small bags are entitled to be brought in the Racecourse.
However, please be aware that entry may take slightly longer as a result of bag search/checks.
Those with Premier Enclosure tickets are able to access a cloakroom facility on the ground floor of the Berkshire Stand.
If you wish to bring professional filming or camera equipment into the Racecourse we ask that you apply for press and media accreditation.
This can be done via the Press & Media section within About Newbury.

Newbury Racecourse offers all racegoers free on-site parking while Members and Hospitality guests enjoy preferential parking.
If you’ve booked in the Racegoers’ Restaurant you should head for Car Park 4.
If you’re in any of our other hospitality spaces you’ll be able to park in Car Park 1 (on all weekend racedays and on selected Friday racedays) or Car Park 4 (on all racedays).

For our afternoon fixtures racing will typically start at between 12pm – 2pm.
Our afternoon fixtures will start earlier in winter (approx.12pm) and slightly later in summer (approx. 2pm).
For our evening fixtures racing will typically start at between 4pm – 5pm.

We’ll typically host six or seven races on any raceday with the last race likely to finish around three and half a hours after the day’s first race.

We look to start any post-racing entertainment as soon as is safe to do so following the last race.
For our music racedays (in July and August) the concert will typically start around 30 minutes after the last race.
Any afterparties on other racedays will typically start around 10 minutes after the last race.
Different areas of the Racecourse close at slightly different times.
Bars accessible for those with General Admission tickets (non-hospitality) typically close before or at the end of the day’s last race, and we will ask our customers to drink up around half an hour after the last race is complete.
Our hospitality areas typically close an hour after the last race, however these times can vary slightly depending on other activity.

Yes, Newbury Racecourse has its own station (a 1-2 minute walk from the gates) and regular services run from a number of major stations and areas across the region.
Newbury’s main station is just a 10-15 minute walk from the Racecourse and benefits from additional services departing and stopping.
