38 Entered For William Hill Super Saturday’s Feature Race
The William Hill Hurdle on Saturday 7th February has attracted 38 early entries. Europe’s richest handicap hurdle takes place on William Hill Super Saturday at Newbury Racecourse. With a total prize fund of £155,000, the competitive handicap is run over two miles and is the centrepiece of a top-class card.
Last year’s winner Joyeuse features prominently among the entries and could return to defend her title for trainer Nicky Henderson and owner J.P. McManus, who also have Khrisma entered in the race.
The very much in-form Dan Skelton has entered a formidable team of five, including Live Conti, seven-time winner Knickerbockerglory, 2023 Cheltenham Festival winner Faivoir, as well as Great Fleet and Let It Rain.
Warren Greatrex sets his sights on a local victory with the six-year-old All In You after his Sandown success last Saturday, which saw him reverse the form with Anthony Honeyball’s Dance And Glance.
The Jonjo and A.J. O’Neill partnership could be represented by up to five runners, headed by recent Ascot Grade 3 Festive Handicap Hurdle winner Wilful. Several of his rivals from that race may re-oppose, including Joe Tizzard’s third-placed Alexei, along with Helnwein and Wreckless Eric.
Further depth is added by Paul Nicholls, who has entered Listed race winning mare Jubilee Alpha Grade 3 Coral Racing Club Intermediate Handicap Hurdle winner Tutti Quanti.
William Hill Super Saturday’s card also features the Grade 2 William Hill Denman Chase and Grade 2 William Hill Game Spirit Chase, both key trials for the Cheltenham Festival.
