The Lesters To Be Hosted At Newbury In December

For the first time in it's 30 year history, The Lesters organised by the Professional Jockeys Association (PJA) will be hosted at Newbury Racecourse.

Named after iconic jockey Lester Piggott, The Lesters 2024 in association with World Pool, will be hosted at Newbury Racecourse on December 22nd, the first time the event will be hosted at a venue since 2018 and the first time in its 30-year history to be hosted at Newbury.

 

The event, organised by the Professional Jockeys Association (PJA) and in association with World Pool, celebrates the achievements of jockeys across both codes with the awards, except the rides of the year, voted for by jockeys.

 

The black-tie occasion will be hosted by ITV Racing’s Luke Harvey and Adele Mulrennan and include a three-course meal, drinks reception, music and dancing.

 

The eight awards to be presented on the evening are as follows:

 

  • Jockey Cam Apprentice Jockey of the Year 
    Great British Racing Conditional Jockey of the Year 
    Racing TV Flat Ride of the Year 
    Sky Sports Racing Jump Ride of the Year 
    RWK Goodman Jump Jockey Special Recognition Award 
    PJA Flat Jockey Special Recognition Award 
    World Pool Flat Jockey of the Year 
    Champions: Full Gallop Jump Jockey of the Year 

 

Tickets cost £200 per person, with tables of 10 available for £1,900.
