Oktoberfest Returns To Newbury Racecourse For The BetVictor Flat Finale
The curtain comes down on the Flat season at Newbury Racecourse this month, with the BetVictor Flat Finale once again featuring Oktoberfest celebrations across Friday 23 and Saturday 24 October 2026. The weekend pairs competitive racing, including a duo of Group 3 features on Saturday, with a full Bavarian celebration, finishing the season off in memorable fashion.
The Dubai Duty Free Grandstand sits at the heart of the action, transformed into a Bavarian beer hall for the duration of the weekend, complete with steins and bierkeller-style seating. Löwenbräu provides the authentic German beer, while the Swing Grill serves bratwurst alongside a range of traditional Oktoberfest dishes. Lederhosen and dirndls are warmly encouraged, with no shortage of photo opportunities for those keen to embrace the spirit of the occasion.
New for this year, Oktoberfest entertainer Eva Von Schnippisch brings a host of interactive entertainment to the Racecourse throughout Friday and Saturday. Guests can immerse themselves in Bavarian traditions with authentic sing and dance-alongs, and the chance to try their hand at yodelling, alongside plenty of fun Oktoberfest themed games and prizes. With audience participation at the heart of her performances, Eva promises to bring plenty of energy and authentic German-inspired fun to the weekend.
Meanwhile, there is plenty for fans to look forward to on the track. Saturday’s card is highlighted by two Group 3 races, the BetVictor St Simon Stakes and the BetVictor Horris Hill Stakes, as well as the Listed D&H Racing Radley Stakes.
In addition, racegoers who book ahead can get behind the rails at no extra cost. Former jockey David Crosse leads a series of Trips to the Start, Parade Ring Tours and Jockey Talks, taking guests out to the start and into the parade ring for a view few get to enjoy.
Saturday also turns the spotlight onto life after racing through Newbury’s long-standing partnership with Greatwood, the charity that uses former racehorses to support disadvantaged children and young adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Visitors will have the opportunity to meet retired racehorse, Mahlervous, and hear more about the charity’s inspiring work ahead of the opening contest.
The atmosphere carries on long after the final race, too. Each evening closes with an after party: a DJ sees Friday out, while Saturday night belongs to the oompah band, rounding off the weekend in true Bavarian style.

Tickets for the BetVictor Flat Finale with Oktoberfest are available now – priced from just £22 – with the full Oktoberfest experience included with every ticket. Early-booking discounts run until 11:59pm on Friday 16 October.
