Forty-Three Remain In Contention For Group 2 Dubai Duty Free Mill Reef Stakes
Following the latest confirmation stage today, forty-three two-year-olds remain in contention for the Group 2 Dubai Duty Free Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury Racecourse. Worth an increased total prize fund of £100,000 in 2024, the six-furlong contest is the feature race of the Dubai Duty Free International Weekend on Saturday 21st September.
Among those who remain in contention include recent Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Gimcrack Stakes winner Cool Hoof Luke for trainer Andrew Balding. Balding also has Jouncy, the half-brother to 2023 Mill Reef Stakes winner Array, and course and distance winner Handcuffed, entered in this year’s renewal.
Featured amongst the entries include Karl Burke’s Group 2 Prix Robert Papin winner Arabie and the 80/1 winner of the Group 2 Coventry Stakes trained by Brian Meehan, Rashabar. Godolphin have three potential representatives led by Group 2 HKJC World Pool Vintage Stakes winner, Aomori City, and Gimcrack runner up, Shadow of Light.
The winner of Sunday’s British Stallion Studs EBF Ripon Champion Two Yrs Old Trophy Stakes (Listed Race), Soldier’s Heart, remains a potential runner for Simon & Ed Crisford and 2024 Nunthorpe Stakes winning owners Victorious Racing.
