Oktoberfest Returns To Newbury Racecourse For The BetVictor Flat Finale

Newbury Racecourse will once again embrace Bavarian tradition as Oktoberfest returns to mark the end of the Flat racing season during the BetVictor Flat Finale on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th October 2025. The weekend promises high-class racing – including two Group 3 contests – combined with a vibrant Oktoberfest celebration, offering racegoers an unforgettable way to close out the season.
An authentic Oktoberfest experience awaits as the Dubai Duty Free Grandstand transforms into a Bavarian wonderland, complete with bierkellers and steins, a variety of food options including bratwurst, currywurst and pretzels, and live oompah bands performing throughout the afternoon on both days. Racegoers are encouraged to don their finest lederhosen and dirndls and make the most of the many photo opportunities to capture the spirit of the day.
There is also plenty to look forward on the track, with Saturday’s card featuring the Group 3 BetVictor Horris Hill Stakes and the Group 3 BetVictor St Simon Stakes, along with the Listed D&H Racing Radley Stakes.
Those who book in advance can enjoy complimentary behind-the-scenes access via the popular Parade Ring Tours and Jockey Talks. Led by ex-jockeys Mattie Batchelor on Friday and David Crosse on Saturday, guests are taken to the start line, the parade ring, and the winners’ enclosure for an exclusive glimpse beyond the rails.
As part of the Racecourses’ ongoing partnership with Greatwood, who use former racehorses to educate disadvantaged children and young adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN), Saturday’s racegoers will also have the opportunity to meet retired racehorse Mahlervous and learn more about the charity’s inspiring work before the first race.
The festivities don’t end when the racing does. An after party will keep the fun going into the evening, with a DJ taking to the stage on Friday, and the oompah band ending the weekend on a high note on Saturday night.
