Newbury Racecourse’s partnership with Visit Malta will come to life on Visit Malta Hungerford Day (Saturday 16th August 2025) with a number of prizes up for grabs, including a dream holiday. Visit Malta is the official tourism authority for Malta, Gozo, and Comino. This collaboration sees Visit Malta become the title sponsor of the Racecourse’s Visit Malta Hungerford Day on Saturday 16th August, headlined by a live post-racing performance from Clean Bandit.

The day’s highlight will be the Group 2 Visit Malta Hungerford Stakes, a prestigious seven-furlong contest offering a prize fund of £150,000. This marks Visit Malta’s first-ever sponsorship in British horse racing, expanding their international sports portfolio, which includes major partnerships with Manchester United and Team Polti.

Racegoers attending Visit Malta Hungerford Day have the exclusive chance to win one of three incredible prizes courtesy of Visit Malta. Entry into the prize draw is simple – attendees will automatically receive an entry into the giveaway by doing any one of the following:

  1) Purchasing a raceday or hospitality ticket for Visit Malta Hungerford Day
2) Accessing the Racecourse for Visit Malta Hungerford Day using a valid Membership Card
3) Connecting to Newbury Racecourse’s free Wi-Fi during Visit Malta Hungerford Day
4) Spinning the Visit Malta prize wheel at the Racecourse on Visit Malta Hungerford Day
5) Scanning the QR code on the Visit Malta boarding passes available at Visit Malta Hungerford Day

Each person can have multiple entries, with one entry granted for each of the above actions. The winners will be announced live on the raceday at 5pm. Prize confirmations will also be sent via email to the winners using the email address provided.

Newbury’s racedays are proving popular in 2025; Visit Malta Hungerford Day follows hot on the heels of Weatherbys Super Sprint Day in July, which saw more than 15,000 fans enjoying an afternoon’s racing with live headline sets from Ella Henderson and Sophie Ellis-Bextor. There are three prizes available:

First Prize: A luxury three-night holiday for two to Malta, including return flights, four-star bed & breakfast accommodation, and airport transfers in Malta
Second Prize: A pair of economy class airline tickets from London Gatwick to Malta courtesy of the National Airline KM Malta Airlines
Third Prize: A three-night stay at a four-star hotel in Malta on a bed & breakfast basis

There will be one winner of each prize. Entries will close at 4pm on Saturday 16th August 2025 and winners will be announced at 5pm on the same day. Each winner will receive an email detailing how to claim their prize at 5pm while the winners will also be announced by name at the Racecourse (PA & big screen).

Each individual (as identified by email address) can have multiple entries in the prize draw. Completing any of the below will generate one entry into the prize draw:

All entries will be amalgamated at 4pm on Saturday 16th August 2025 and the winners will be selected at random, with prizes drawn in descending order.

Any entries received after 4pm will not be counted.

Any prizes unclaimed by 5pm on Friday 22nd August will be donated to charity. The prizes carry no cash-value and are non-transferable.
