Reusable Cups At Newbury Racecourse

Newbury Racecourse Sustainability | Event Cup Solutions

Newbury Racecourse has partnered with sustainable cup suppliers Event Cup Solutions to reduce emissions and encourage sustainability.

The partnership with Event Cup Solutions will provide racegoers with an improved raceday experience.

Event Cup Solutions, the company behind the ONE Planet ONE Chance® Reusable Cup System, is providing the Racecourse with its own unique sustainable cup solution, enabling the Racecourse to reduce its carbon footprint.

The ONE Planet ONE Chance® Reusable Cup System encourages racegoers to return their cups to dedicated bins located across the Racecourse, ready for Event Cup Solutions’ on-site team to collect and prepare for return for washing at the company’s state-of- the-art wash facility, where they are put through a specialist wash and drying process, preparing them for the next race meeting.

The new cups – which will replace the Racecourse’s existing cup offering from Thursday 13th June 2024 – will come at no extra cost for racegoers and without the requirement for a deposit or donation scheme.

Lucy Hayes, Operations Director at Newbury Racecourse said:

“More than 120,000 racegoers enjoy racing at Newbury Racecourse every year and this new partnership provides all those who spend time with us with an enhanced experience while affording the Racecourse a more sustainable, environmentally friendly solution for cup provision.’’

John Reeves, Director of Event Cup Solutions, said:

“We are thrilled that Newbury Racecourse has committed to rolling out the ONE Planet ONE Chance® Reusable Cup System. Our aim is to make it easy for visitors to return the cups by providing collection bins which will be positioned in easily accessible and visible areas of the venue.”
