Marketing Executive
Newbury Racecourse is an award-winning sporting venue with a multi-functional site playing host to c. 30 racedays per year, plus a wide range of other exciting non-racing events including: concerts, weddings, conferences, on-site hotel and our award-winning Rocking Horse Nursery.
We are seeking a part time (15 hours per week) Marketing Executive to join our friendly Marketing Team and assist in the planning and delivery of non-racing marketing campaigns and activity including Conference & Events (C&E), The Lodge Hotel and Rocking Horse Nursery.
The successful candidate in this role will:
- Work closely with the C&E, Lodge Hotel and Rocking Horse Nursery teams to ensure effective delivery of marketing campaigns
- Monitor and report on the performance of the Racecourse’s non-racing marketing activity
- Assist in maximising data capture opportunities across all of Newbury Racecourse’s non-racing touchpoints and the delivery of GDPR compliance
- Assist in the delivery of guest and visitor experience programmes and initiatives at non-racing events
- Assist in the development and maintenance of marketing collateral, both physical and digital
- Assist in the upkeep and optimisation of website and digital/online marketing-related content
- Work closely with Newbury Racecourse’s social and content team to ensure a regular flow of engaging non-racing content
- Help identify, agree and deliver third party marketing partnerships to extend reach, collect data and raise awareness
You will be able to demonstrate:
- Previous experience in a comparable role within marketing
- Excellent writing and proofing skills, as well as a very keen eye for detail
- Innovation and imagination; capable of generating ideas and creating engaging content
- Motivation and enthusiasm, for both the position and the Racecourse
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- A positive, proactive attitude

Hospitality Sales Executive
Newbury Racecourse is an award-winning sporting venue with a multi-functional site playing host to c. 30 racedays per year, plus a wide range of other exciting non-racing events including: concerts, weddings, conferences, on-site hotel and our award-winning Rocking Horse Nursery.
We are seeking a Hospitality Sales Executive to join our friendly Sales Team and assist in the day-to-day sales activity for boxes and dining to maximise revenue and deliver raceday targets.
The successful candidate in this role will;
• Proactively represent Newbury Racecourse racing business to potential and existing clients
• Respond to and convert incoming enquiries for raceday hospitality boxes & restaurants
• Manage existing accounts and grow their potential
• Proactively generate new leads to build and enhance the existing customer portfolio
• Prepare detailed and accurate proposals
• Produce contract documents and invoices in a timely manner
• Ensure the booking system is updated in real time to allow for accurate sales forecasting
• On racedays meet and greet, troubleshoot and liaise with customers to deliver an exceptional customer experience
• Play an integral part in the coordination and delivery of box and dining products by forming a close working relationship with the catering team, ensuring customers’ expectations are exceeded
• Organise sales visits (external and internal)
You will be able to demonstrate:
• Previous experience in a sales environment, preferably with a mix of new business and proactive account management
• Prior experience within the hospitality or sports industries would be advantageous
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills combined with a flair for customer interaction
• Motivation and enthusiasm, for both the position and the Racecourse
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills

Groundsperson
Newbury Racecourse is seeking an individual with experience of sports ground management (or equivalent) and an appreciation for high standards to take on an exciting opportunity as a Groundsperson. The successful candidate will report to the Head Groundsperson, assisting them in all aspects of maintenance, preparation and repair of the racetrack and surrounding estate. You will become an integral part of the groundstaff team, taking part in vital projects which will contribute to the future development of the racecourse estate. There will be elements of working unsupervised, so you must be reliable, enthusiastic, able to use your initiative and to exercise sound judgment. You should also be in the possession of a full valid driving licence and have the relevant machinery skills.

Conference & Events Coordinator
Newbury Racecourse is an award-winning sporting venue with a multi-functional site playing host to c. 31 racedays per year, plus a wide range of other exciting non-racing events including: concerts, conferences, on-site hotel and our award-winning Rocking Horse Nursery.
We are seeking a part time (20 hours per week) Conference & Events Coordinator to join our friendly Sales Team to maximise sales revenue and profitability by coordinating non-Raceday events.
The successful candidate in this role will:
• Represent Newbury Racecourse Conference & Events business to existing and potential clients on site and off site, maximising sales revenue and profitability.
• Manage and plan internal and external non raceday events from point of sale to the event date.
• Create function sheets for events, ensuring that all information is handed over to the Operations Team in an accurate and timely manner.
• Carry out event feedback and encourage rebooking.
• When required, respond to and convert Conference & Events enquiries. Produce proposals for new enquiries and keep the booking system updated in real time to allow for accurate sales forecasting.
• Assist with all Conference & Events sales administration, to include: updating the events diary, responding to email and telephone enquiries, collating responses, producing contracts and checking event revenue is correct and passed to the finance team for invoicing.
You will be able to demonstrate:
• Proven experience in a events or hospitality environment.
• Previous sales experience would be an advantage.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills combined with a flair for customer interaction.
• A positive, proactive attitude.
• Motivation and enthusiasm, for both the position and the Racecourse.
