Visitor Guide: Coral Gold Cup | Saturday 2 Dec – All You Need To Know

TICKETS

Tickets for Saturday’s Coral Gold Cup are still available.

Tickets are available to purchase online below until 11:59pm on Friday 1 December.

SATURDAY TICKETS

Tickets will be available to purchase on the East Gate from 10am on Saturday 2 December.

Ticket and swing badge collection – and the reprinting of misplaced tickets – will be available at the East Gate. For those racegoers requiring ticket collection or ticketing reprinting services we ask that a booking reference number is at the ready to provide to staff.


WHAT’S ON

The Coral Gold Cup Marquee

Head over to the Coral Gold Cup Marquee for live acoustic music throughout the afternoon. The marquee will also be the location for the After Party once the Goffs Sale has concluded.

 

After Party

Don’t forget your dancing shoes as our resident DJ will be cranking the tunes in the Dubai Duty Free Grandstand straight after the racing before ’29 Fingers’ take to the stage in the Coral Gold Cup Marquee from 5pm (approx) for the ultimate party.

 

Carousel & Festive Wall

Get into the Christmas spirit and enjoy our carousel which is open all day and free to ride. Our Many Clouds Bar – in the Premier Enclosure – has a festive feature wall for the perfect Instagram snap!

 

Coral VR Experience

Experience what it is like to be a jockey with Coral’s VR Experience – located in the Grandstand Enclosure. Jump on and race your friends as if you were on the track yourself.

 

Goffs Sale

The Coral Gold Cup Sale by Goffs will be held in the winners’ enclosure immediately after racing. For more information on the sale and what to expect, simply click here.

 

Punters’ Panel

Join our group of experts and top tipsters for our punters’ panel at 11:45am in the Parade Ring to get all the tips ahead of the day.

 

Trips to the Jump

Join ex-jockey David Crosse and watch the horses up close and in action at the final jump. Keep an eye on the times for the trip located outside the jockeys’ weighing room adjacent to the Parade Ring.

 

Injured Jockeys’ Fund

Representatives from the Injured Jockeys’ Fund will be on-site to fundraise on behalf of jockeys who are injured, unable to ride, or generally in need.

 

Shuttle Bus

A free shuttle bus (running from 5:30pm – 8:30pm) will be available to take racegoers to Newbury Bus Station (in the town centre).

DRESS CODE

Newbury Racecourse wants all racegoers to feel comfortable during their visit – please see below for dress recommendations for the Coral Gold Cup.

Premier Enclosure

Racegoers are encouraged to wear smart attire in the Premier Enclosure and many racegoers choose to dress up for their day with us.

Smart shorts, smart denim jeans and trainers are all permitted.

Denim must not be ripped, fancy dress, and football/sports team shirts and vests are not permitted.

Grandstand Enclosure

Newbury’s Grandstand Enclosure offers a more relaxed dress code with non-offensive fancy dress welcome. Football/sports team shirts and vests are not permitted.

Under 12s

Please note, no dress code applies to Under 12s in any of Newbury Racecourse’s spaces.

Race Times: 11:55, 12:30, 1:05, 1:40, 2:15, 2:50 & 3:25.

GETTING HERE & TRAVEL

By Rail

Newbury Racecourse has its own train station, which is just one stop from Newbury Station with regular connections from major stations across the region.

Once arriving at Newbury Racecourse station it’s simply a case of making the short walk (1-2 minutes) to the Racecourse.

Free Shuttle Bus

A free shuttle bus (running from 5:30pm – 8:30pm) will be available to take racegoers to Newbury Bus Station (in the town centre).

By Road

The Racecourse is also easily accessible by road, with free on-site parking.

Those travelling by road from the east, west and north via the M4 should enter site via Hambridge Road (nearest postcode RG14 7PN), while those travelling from the south via the A339 should enter the course via Racecourse Road (nearest postcode RG14 7GL).

Please note, there is a part road closure of Hambridge Road, please check below to see if this is likely to impact your route.

ROAD CLOSURE INFORMATION

If travelling by road, please follow traffic marshal directions when arriving, who will be on hand to direct you to the appropriate car parks.


CAR PARKING

All on-site parking at Newbury Racecourse is free with Car Parks 4 & 5 open for the Coral Gold Cup meeting.

If you have a Premier Enclosure ticket you’ll also be able to park for free in Car Park 1.

Car parks open at 9:45am, while vehicles can be left on-site overnight.

A coach park – for minibuses and coaches – is also available and staff will be on hand to direct appropriate vehicles to this car park.

Stay For The Party

There’s lots happening after the racing – including the small matter of two afterparties and the Goffs Coral Gold Cup sale.

So don’t rush off after the racing!


FREE WIFI & APP

Newbury Racecourse offer all racegoers the use of a free Wi-Fi service.

When on-site simply select ‘FREE WIFI’ and create an account to start using the free service.

Britbet’s Raceday Ready App – designed to enhance your experience with us – will also be available for use once on-site at Newbury Racecourse – this can be accessed via QR codes across site and also from links within the Racecard.


RACECARDS

If you’re thinking of having a bet while you’re with us then you’ll be able to get all the insight and latest form within our Racecard.

These are available to purchase from sellers on the East Entrance and at the designated Racecard booths and are priced at £4.


FOOD & DRINK

An array of food and drink – catering for a wide range of taste and dietary requirements – will be available across the Racecourse.

Vegan Offering

The Racecourse’s three coffee yards – on the ground and first floors of the Berkshire Stand and the first floor of the Dubai Duty Free Grandstand – offer a number of hot and cold vegan options.

Gluten Free Offering

The Butchers’ Block (ground floor of Berkshire), The Paddock Kitchen (first floor of Berkshire), Piglets Pantry (first floor of Hampshire) and the 1905 (first floor of the Hampshire) all offer menus which can be tailored to create gluten free options.

Dairy Free Offering

Oat, almond and soya milk are available across the Racecourse.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFOMATION

Please note, Newbury Racecourse is a cashless site. Only the on-site bookmakers and the Tote will accept cash. Cash machines can be found on-site.

Please note, Newbury Racecourse operates a ‘Challenge 25’ policy for alcohol purchase and consumption. Anyone lucky enough to look under 25, will need to show ID at either the East Entrance or at the Berkshire Stand Reception, where a ‘Challenge 25′ wristband will be issued.

We take a zero tolerance policy on anti-social behaviour, and on the use of drugs.

Please be aware that drug detection dogs and bag searches will be in operation on all entrances.

A First Aid point is available adjacent to the East Entrance.


LEAVING THE RACECOURSE

At the end of your day, and upon leaving the racecourse, we ask that racegoers are patient as there may be queues for buses, taxis and to leave the car parks. Taxis are limited, and we strongly advise pre-booking to ensure your journey home is as seamless as possible. A free shuttle bus will be running from 4:30pm – 7pm to take racegoers to Newbury Bus Station (in the town centre).
