Experienced Security Person

Newbury Racecourse is an award-winning sporting venue with a multi-functional site playing host to c. 30 racedays per year, plus a wide range of other exciting non-racing events including: concerts, weddings, conferences, on-site hotel and our award-winning Rocking Horse Nursery. We are already looking forward to some brilliant events in 2022 including: a one-off Easter Weekend for Dubai Duty Free Spring Trials in April, our popular Summer Party in the Paddock’s before finishing of the year with Oktoberfest and the Ladbrokes Winter Carnival.

You will be an integral part of our small security team, providing a 24:7 security service across the estate maintaining the safety and security of our staff, visitors, and premises. The role involves carrying out a variety of patrol duties, control room operations (which includes monitoring and operating CCTV) and responding to reported incidents.

The position will involve shift work, both day and night, on a rota basis.

The ideal applicant will:
• Hold SIA (Security Industry Authority) CCTV and Front Line qualifications and a full driving license
• Have relevant experience in a comparable role
• Be of a positive nature
• Be able to perform well under pressure
• Have basic computer literacy

Nursery Team Leader

The Rocking Horse Nursery is based in the unique setting of Newbury Racecourse, we are proud to be the most advanced childcare option in the area, offering exceptional childcare with ultramodern facilities. We have extensive experience in nurturing the early development of children, our aim being to provide children with opportunities to develop a wide range of skills, covering all aspects of their development.
We are now seeking an experienced Team Leader who will be responsible for managing and maintaining the smooth running of our Rocky Creek (2yr old room) in line with the practice and policies of the nursery and in compliance with the various childcare acts, provisions, confidentiality, health and safety.

Responsibilities will include:

• Supervising and guiding the staff of the section to care for the children allocated to the unit.
• In partnership with the unit staff, providing an environment and opportunity for the children to naturally develop and realise their potential, achieving a positive self-image.
• In partnership with the unit staff, encouraging and playing with the children including excursions (weather permitting) to ensure a rounded experience.
• Enabling parents to feel secure and involved in the development of their child by ensuring that correct confidential records, daily journals and other notes are maintained.
• Discussing with the parents, as requested at the appropriate time, the progress of the child and to bring to the notice of the parents any cause for concern, after discussion with the manager.
• Within the area provided and with equipment available, maintaining at all times suitable conditions of hygiene and cleanliness for the children with special consideration for the milk kitchen and food preparation area. Assisting at meal times and bottle-feeding as necessary.
• Carrying out any other duties that may from time to time be specified by the manager, as deemed necessary for the correct conduct of the nursery, in compliance with government rules and regulations in force together with the guidance of appropriate social services directives.

The ideal candidate must have at least 3 years’ experience within a nursery environment and hold a minimum Level 3 NVQ in Childcare. This post is subject to Enhanced DBS (previously CRB).

We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and dynamic Digital Marcomms Executive to join our friendly Marketing Team and play a key role in creating and curating our digital community. This is an exciting full-time opportunity for someone who has real drive. The successful candidate will be creative, organised and will have the knowledge and passion for the latest digital trends and technologies and can jump straight into this role and deliver it with confidence.

Main duties will include:
• Creating a unique vision for our social media channels as part of the overall Marketing and Communications Strategy
• Creation of compelling content ideas for all channels to support larger campaigns
• Support in curating our channels with yearly/monthly/weekly content plan
• Working with the broader marketing team to create and send customer ecomms to support the business to targeted and segmented audiences with compelling content
• Maintaining and updating the content of the website and supporting microsites to a high standard, whilst working with external developers to improve and evolve the website
• Reporting and analysis of our social media activity and website usage
• Working with broader marketing team as required to prepare for events and racedays
• On our racedays acting as the on-site media contact and process accreditation

The successful candidate in this role will;
• Have excellent writing and proofing skills, as well as a very keen eye for detail
• Be self-motivated, creative and confident enough to take the initiative
• Be innovative and imaginative; capable of creating engaging content and generating ideas
• Have experience of building and maintaining a digital community
• Have strong sporting knowledge, an interest in horseracing is a bonus
• Have competency with the Adobe Creative Suite, knowledge of Premiere Pro and Photoshop would be advantageous
• Be able to work outside of office hours to ensure that we remain up to date with latest news
