Summer Evening Racing Returns To Newbury

Summer starts at Newbury Racecourse with three big Thursday raceday parties across July – discounted tickets available now

As we enjoy the warm summer evenings, there is lots to look forward to across the coming months at Newbury Racecourse. The first evening meeting of the summer season took place on Tuesday featuring the Racing Staff Week charity race.

Next week sees the start of the exciting new Summer Evening Series, a reimagining of the Racecourse’s previous Gin Thursday racedays, with three big race day parties taking place on Thursday 6th, 13th and 27th July. Expect live music, an after party with DJ, themed food and drink and exciting racing.

First up, on Thursday 6th July, is The Gin Garden with over 30 gins, flavoured and otherwise on offer. Four bespoke gin cocktails have been created for the evening, including The Highclere Negroni, Warner’s Elderflower Cooler, Lumber’s Berkshire Bramble and Chase Sloe Gin Royale, while those in attendance will enjoy live acoustic music, an after party until 10pm, and festival-style food trucks offering fresh dressed crab, scampi, lamb koftas and Manchego cheese toasties.

Discounted Gin Garden tickets are available to purchase until 11:59pm on Thursday 29th June, while, as part of Racing Staff Week – and to celebrate and thank racing staff for all their hard work behind the scenes – all racing staff are able to attend The Gin Garden raceday free of charge at Newbury on Thursday 6th July.

The Rum Shack then arrives as part of the Pump Technology Raceday on Thursday 13th July. Live reggae music, traditional Caribbean cuisine and four rum-based cocktails – Mojito, Cuba Libre, Spiced Runner and Malibu Bay Breeze – await. The new Summer Evening Series signs off with The Cocktail Club on Thursday 27th July. All one could want from a summer’s evening: ten bespoke cocktails, an Ibiza themed saxophonist throughout the evening, food trucks offering calamari, fried halloumi, Merguez Sausage with harissa, chicken wings and lobster fries and an after party until 10pm.

With free parking and an on-site train station, it couldn’t be easier to head down to the Racecourse after work to enjoy an evening’s racing with colleagues, friends, and family. A limited number of Summer Evening Series passes remain offering access to all three race meetings at a discounted rate of only £48.

Harry Walklin, Marketing Director at Newbury Racecourse commented: “It was great to welcome evening racing back to Newbury Racecourse this week and we’re really looking forward to the arrival of our Summer Evening Series. The new raceday parties promise excitement and entertainment in equal measure and we’re excited to welcome racegoers next Thursday for our inaugural party, The Gin Garden.”

The Summer Evening Series kicks off a summer of music at Newbury Racecourse. The legendary Sir Tom Jones returns to the stage at the Berkshire track on Saturday 22nd July following one of the Flat Season highlights, the Weatherbys Super Sprint.

The Party in the Paddock stage then welcomes the ever-popular Olly Murs on Saturday 19th August to sing and dance the night away on BetVictor Hungerford Day. Tickets for both nights are available to purchase with Early Bird Olly Murs tickets available to buy at a discounted rate until Friday 30th June: https://newburyracecourse.co.uk/racing/racedays-tickets/.
