Scott Mills said: “I’m really looking forward to playing at Newbury. Hopefully, the crowd will have had some luck on the horses and will be in the mood for a party. If not, I’m sure I can cheer them up and get them dancing!”

Julian Thick, Chief Executive of Newbury Racecourse, added: “We’re delighted to announce Scott Mills will be performing live after a competitive evening of racing in aid of a great cause in June. The British Summer will be in full swing and we hope plenty of people will join us to start the weekend early.”

Scott Mills has also hosted many live events for Radio 1 including The Brit Awards and Radio 1’s Big Weekend. His particular style of mixing comedy and popular culture has ensured that his Radio 1 show has a cult following.

He will play a live DJ set on Pelican Charity Race Evening, after a seven-race card with a Charity Race at 5:20pm in aid of the evening’s sponsors, who aim to raise money for innovations in cancer surgery.

Pelican Charity Race Evening will be the second in the ‘Thursday Nights Live’ series, launched last year.
