Newbury Racecourse, in partnership with Underbelly (a leading live entertainment and event production company based in the UK), is planning to hold a magical annual Christmas Carnival event at the Racecourse, which will run from late-November until early January each year, from 2021 onwards.

The event will be covered by the Racecourse’s existing event licence, and although we are aware that such an event would not require planning permission for up to 28 days, as it will be slightly longer than that, we will be submitting a planning application to West Berkshire Council, seeking temporary planning permission for the event, for an initial period of five-years. However, in advance of making the application we wanted to make you aware of the proposals and provide you with the opportunity to ask any questions and provide us with any feedback you may have.

The Great Christmas Carnival at Newbury Racecourse will provide a magical, fun-filled experience for all ages and demographics, but with a particular focus on families. It will include:
• A Circus Big Top tent, hosting world class, exhilarating circus and family friendly shows
• A bespoke and magical Christmas tree maze
• Traditional Christmas market stalls, selling hand crafted local goods and gifts
• Local contemporary & festive food and drinks stalls
• A beautiful ice rink
• Carnival rides to cater for all ages
• Santa’s Grotto

We hope this will be a popular and magical family event that becomes a fixture of Newbury’s Christmas calendar.

Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, we are unable to host a public exhibition. We are instead hosting an online consultation between Friday 19th February and 12th March 2021, which will be available to view at http://newburygreatchristmascarnival.com during that period.
