Fashion in full flight at Newbury Racecourse’s Ladies Day

Ladies Day  promised fashion, glamour and style, and it didn’t disappoint as a crowd of over 17,500 descended  to indulge in style-spotting, watch top-class racing and enjoy a brilliant performance from legendary artist Meat Loaf in his last ever UK performance.

Best-Dressed-Ladies

While the big winner on the track was Gregorian, who took the £100,000 Group 2 Betfred Hungerford Stakes, it was Nicola Wood who triumphed in the best dressed lady competition, picked out from the crowd by a team of ‘Style Spotters’.

She won a fantastic prize courtesy of Charter Travel of Newbury which consisted of a seven-night trip for two to Florida, including Virgin Atlantic flights, luxury accommodation in a platinum deluxe villa on the Emerald Island Resort, Kissimmee Florida, and the use of a car.

The other lucky winner on the day was John Kerr who scooped two return flights to New York, again courtesy of Charter Travel and Virgin Atlantic, through the Official Racecard prize draw.

Meat-Loaf

After the racing finished, charismatic rocker Meat Loaf performed his last ever UK show, thrilling the crowd with a full rendition of his greatest hits including ‘Dead Ringer For Love’, ‘I’d Lie For You (And That’s the Truth)’ and ‘Bat Out of Hell’.
