One of the most successful art events in the national calendar is coming to Newbury. CONTEMPORARY ART FAIRS, who have put on successful art fairs in Windsor, Surrey and Reading for over a decade, are bringing their popular event to Newbury Racecourse 10th -12th May 2019.
Renowned for their informal, friendly and welcoming atmosphere, these art fairs have become known as events that both experienced and new art collectors feel very much at home in. CONTEMPORARY ART FAIRS have a well-earned reputation for helping match art lovers and artists for over 14 years and now they are joining the calendar of thriving art events in Newbury.
“We are passionate about art and artists and have worked very hard for over a decade to bring real art to real people. It is one of our dreams to expand the opportunities for both art lovers and artists and this feels right.” Says Deborah James, fair director, “we are very excited about bringing our fairs to Newbury”.
There are over 160 artists, established favourites, galleries, emerging stars, and selected new talent, both national, local and European.
With a range of media, from fine art to high-end photography, from glass sculpture to lino print work, across textural abstract to traditional oil landscapes, you will find that exceptional piece of art work that looks great in your home, or – for the first time ever – an outdoor sculpture for that impact in the garden and that feels exciting to own.

With a Private View evening, there is a chance to enjoy fine art and fine wine, with room to engage with other art enthusiasts, relax and enjoy the fashion on show – a real social event in the calendar.
Or drop in any time over the weekend to a fair full of great contemporary art, by living artists, at affordable prices, in an accessible venue outside London. Enjoy the chance to speak with their artists one-to-one, for a unique insight and experience of art you are going to love to live with.
These events are known for being inclusive and participatory. There are live demonstrations by exhibiting artists, where you can pick up inspiration and get an understanding of how they create their individual style. There is an interactive art corner with artist-led workshops to try your hand and discover your talent.
The art fairs, and their community of artists, support the Prince’s Trust with unique, collectable, small canvases, donated by the artists, which have raised more than £65,000 to date. All this, while being successful for their artists, and a truly great day out and an exciting shopping experience for you, the visitor.
