STARS SET TO SHINE AT NEWBURY ON BETFAIR SUPER SATURDAY

Altior and Native River to make special appearance and tickets for the

Betfair Brunch on sale

Dual Queen Mother Champion Chase winner, Altior, and Cheltenham Gold Cup hero, Native River, will be among the equine stars on show at Newbury Racecourse on Saturday 11 February.

Three-times winners of the day’s two Grade 2 Chases and with combined career prizemoney earnings of almost £2.5 million, the pair will be among a host of exciting attractions on Betfair Super Saturday which features the £155,000 Betfair Hurdle, the Betfair Denman Chase and the Betfair Exchange Game Spirit Chase which Altior won in 2017, 2018 and 2020.

Altior’s record in the Betfair Exchange Game Spirit Chase was mirrored by the 2016 Hennessy Gold Cup winner, Native River, who won the Betfair Denman Chase in the same seasons, adding the Cheltenham Gold Cup to his haul of big race wins in 2018.

Newbury’s Clerk of the Course Keith Ottesen said, “We are delighted to see the return of Altior and Native River who proved to be a big draw with jumping fans on Betfair Super Saturday last year.

“We are incredibly grateful to Altior’s owners Patricia and Chris Pugh and to Garth and Ann Broom whose colours Native River carried, for allowing us all to enjoy their presence once again at Newbury.”

Tickets are on sale for the Betfair Brunch, a unique event providing an informed insight into the day’s stella card.  Former top jump jockey David Crosse will play host to a panel of experts set to include Betfair ambassador, Paul Nicholls, as they highlight their top tips for the day.

Upgrading to the Betfair Brunch costs just £14 and includes a breakfast selection, complimentary racecard and a Betfair gift.  Reservations for the Betfair Brunch and raceday tickets can be made at www.newburyracecourse.co.uk.

Forfeits for the Betfair Hurdle will be announced on Tuesday, 24 January.
