Digital, Communications & Content Executive

Full Time

Newbury Racecourse is an award-winning sporting venue with a multi-functional site playing host to more than 30 racedays a year plus a wide range of other events including concerts, weddings and exhibitions while also being home to a 36-bedroom hotel, The Lodge and leading children’s nursery, Rocking Horse Nursery.

We are seeking a Digital, Communications & Content Executive to join our friendly Marketing Team and play a key role in creating and curating our digital content. This is an exciting full-time opportunity for someone who has knowledge of and passion for the latest digital trends and technologies. The successful candidate will be creative, organised and data-focussed, with the drive to jump straight into this role and deliver it with confidence.

Main duties will include:

  • Planning, managing and reporting on our social media activity across all key business areas – racing, hotel, nursery and conference & events
  • Regular use of insight and data to inform and optimise content output
  • Assisting with the delivery of Newbury Racecourse’s communications and PR strategy and associated activity
  • Delivering and outputting content which drives engagement and increases audience across social and digital channels
  • Assisting with content strategy, creation, capture and output across both digital and traditional channels
  • Writing, curating and outputting engaging written content

The successful candidate in this role will;

  • Have excellent writing and proofing skills, as well as a very keen eye for detail
  • Be self-motivated, creative and confident enough to take the initiative
  • Be innovative and imaginative; capable of creating engaging content and generating ideas
  • Use data and insight to inform content planning and output
  • Be familiar with the latest trends across social and digital channels

Sponsorship Sales Manager

Full Time

Newbury Racecourse is an award-winning sporting venue with a multi-functional site playing host to c. 30 racedays per year plus a wide range of other exciting events including concerts, weddings and exhibitions.

We are now seeking a talented and organised individual to take up the role of Sponsorship Sales Manager. The successful candidate will build relationships with existing sponsors via exceptional customer service and account management, as well as identifying and securing new sponsorship and partnership opportunities. On racedays, they will liaise with race sponsors and work with the Sponsorship Coordinator and Racing Sales Manager to administer their requirements, whilst taking responsibility for the raceday sponsorship team.

They will also work closely with the marketing, communications, hospitality and catering teams to ensure sponsors get the most out of their sponsorship.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
• Strong business development skills
• Accurate reporting of a sponsorship and partnership sales pipeline
• Outstanding organisational, relationship-building and communication skills, with a natural ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, alongside being self-motivated and able to exercise sound judgement and the confidence to work unsupervised
• An interest in (or prior experience within) the sports, hospitality or leisure industries would be an advantage

Groundsperson

Full Time

Newbury Racecourse is an award-winning sporting venue with a multi-functional site playing host to c. 30 racedays per year, plus a wide range of other exciting non-racing events including: concerts, weddings, conferences, on-site hotel and our award-winning Rocking Horse Nursery.

We are seeking an individual with suitable skills and experience to report to the Head Groundsperson, assisting them in all aspects of maintenance, preparation and repair of the racetrack and surrounding estate. You will become an integral part of the groundstaff team, taking part in vital projects which will contribute to the future development of the racecourse estate.

The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate:
• Experience of sports ground management or equivalent
• A full valid driving licence
• Relevant machinery skills

The successful applicant will have an appreciation for the high standards expected by Newbury Racecourse and our customers. There will be elements of working unsupervised, so you must be reliable, enthusiastic, able to use your initiative and to exercise sound judgment.
