First homes reserved at Newbury Racecourse

Last weekend (Saturday 6 April) saw the first opportunity for homebuyers to secure one of the brand new properties for sale at Newbury Racecourse at an exclusive launch. David Wilson Homes, the developer behind the exciting housing development, was delighted with the response they received at the invitation-only event, with over 300 pre-registered interested purchasers attending and two townhouses reserved on the day.

While the newly completed show home and marketing suite hosted the preview weekend for those who had pre-registered, the development will officially open to the public on Saturday 27April 2013.

Paul Crispin, Managing Director for David Wilson Homes Southern comments: “We were absolutely delighted with the interest that we received at the preview weekend for the new homes at Newbury Racecourse. The response we have received so far is quite phenomenal and shows that the demand for quality homes at this exciting new development is going to be high. We expect that once we open to the public this weekend, this demand will continue and so would encourage anyone interested to come and find out more in order to avoid later disappointment.”

The first phase of housing at Newbury Racecourse in the Western Area features a choice of red brick ‘Berkshire’ family homes set in traditional crescents amongst matured oak trees, akin to a London Square. The unique first floor living spaces offer spectacular views over Stroud Green and the Racecourse’s beautiful grounds.

Mr Crispin adds: “The combination of new 2, 3, 4 and 5 bed family houses along with spacious trackside apartments which offer uninterrupted views of the straight mile make this a much sought after living destination that will appeal to a range of homebuyers. This development will deliver much needed new homes to local buyers. In addition, significant upgrade work is also being carried out on the Racecourse’s own train station providing faster connection to London and will make living at the racecourse an appealing option for commuters.”

Sarah Hordern, Joint Managing Director, Newbury Racecourse explains;

“This development is unique in both its location and its living style. Housing design is in keeping with the style of the racecourse architecture and the surrounding houses, and residents interested in horse racing will be able to take a stroll to the races right on their doorstep.”

Those interested in securing one of the first properties at the racecourse this summer will need to get moving, with the first of the Western Area family homes available to reserve now and ready to move into in a few months time. Prices range from £295,000 to £458,000 and with the government’s new Help to Buy scheme, homebuyers will be able to buy a property with just a 5 per cent deposit. The first 100 houses sold will also benefit from 1 year’s membership of The Racecourse, Newbury.

The brand new marketing suite will be open 7 days a week with interactive screens enabling buyers to visualise their news homes with 3D tours of the site. A model of the site sits under the screens and lights up to show real time availability. Visitors will also be able to have tours around the newly completed show apartment and show home.
