Trade Nation to sponsor London Gold Cup on Lockinge Day
The Trade Nation London Gold Cup Heritage Handicap run over 1m2f is the third race on Al Shaqab Lockinge with Ladies Day taking place on Saturday 18th May. The contest, restricted to horses three years of age, is run for a total prize fund of £100,000. Last year’s renewal was won by the Aidan O’Brien-trained Bertinelli, ridden to victory by Ryan Moore.
The partnership marks an inaugural sponsorship within horseracing for the FCA regulated fintech and financial services provider, Trade Nation, which launched back in 2014. As the official trading partner and sleeve partner of Aston Villa Football Club and principal sponsor of Somerset County Cricket Club, the new partnership with Newbury Racecourse marks an expansion of their sponsorship portfolio within the sports industry.
Trade Nation’s CEO, Stuart Lane said:
“We are delighted to be sponsoring the London Gold Cup on Al Shaqab Lockinge Day. Just as in the markets, where precision and strategy are paramount, we look forward to an exhilarating race that mirrors the dynamics of trading—fast-paced, competitive, and full of surprises. Partnering with Newbury Racecourse, we celebrate the synergy between financial expertise and sporting prowess.”
Jordan Coates, Head of Sales at Newbury Racecourse commented on the new partnership:
“We are delighted to announce the new partnership with Trade Nation. As a fast-growing international trading platform who are well established within sports sponsorship, it is an exciting new partnership for Newbury Racecourse. Al Shaqab Lockinge Day is the feature meeting of our Flat season, and we very much look forward to working proactively with Trade Nation to showcase their platform to our audience.”
