Oktoberfest Returns to Newbury Racecourse During The BetVictor Flat Finale

 The legendary German festival, Oktoberfest, returns to Newbury Racecourse during the BetVictor Flat Season Finale on Friday 25 & Saturday 26 October to conclude the flat racing season in style. As the curtain comes down on another memorable flat season at Newbury, the Racecourse will be transformed into a traditional Bavarian party for the weekend, with top quality racing on the track – including two Group 3 races – complemented by an immersive Oktoberfest experience off it.

Racegoers – who are encouraged to attend in their finest lederhosen – can raise a stein to mark the end of the flat season with the Racecourse’s Dubai Duty Free Grandstand becoming a celebration of Bavarian culture, complete with Bierkeller, themed food including bratwurst and pretzel and oompah bands playing sets throughout the afternoon. Following the conclusion of racing on Saturday, racegoers can enjoy an Oompah After Party to continue the festivities. Access to the themed celebrations is included within both Grandstand and Premier Enclosure tickets.

Aside from the Oktoberfest entertainment, those who book in advance can secure a space on one of the complimentary Parade Ring Tours and Jockey Talks. Course expert and former jockey David Crosse will be on hand to provide insight and take guests down to the start of the races and into the parade ring and winners’ enclosure.

Through the Racecourses’ partnership with Greatwood Charity, who use former racehorses to educate disadvantaged children and young adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN), all racegoers on Saturday will be able to get up close with a retired racehorse from Greatwood called Maherlvous.
