More Than 12,000 Racegoers Enjoy Coral Gold Cup As Attendance Grows

Newbury welcomes bumper crowd – more than 12% up on 2023 – to showpiece jumps meeting as Kandoo Kids takes spoils in £250,000 race

Newbury Racecourse are pleased to report that 12,063 racegoers attended today’s Coral Gold Cup meeting.

The feature race of the day, the Coral Gold Cup, was won by the Paul Nicholls-trained Kandoo Kid in a thrilling renewal of the historic race.

Today’s attendance marks a 12% year-on-year increase on 2023 with all hospitality places selling out for both Friday and Saturday of the historic two-day meeting.

The increased attendance at Saturday’s Coral Gold Cup – Newbury’s highlight jumps meeting – comes after the Racecourse’s signature flat meeting, the Al Shaqab Lockinge with Ladies Day, also proved popular in 2024 with a 14% increase in year-on-year attendance.

Tickets and hospitality experiences are on-sale for 2025’s action and racing fans have wasted little time in securing their place at the best possible price with demand for the lowest-priced Super Early Bird tickets 50% up on last year.

These ultra discounted tickets are only available until 11:59pm on Friday 6th December so racegoers are encouraged to move fast if they’d like to guarantee the best deal for next year’s racing.
