Newbury Racecourse Welcomes Alex MacIntyre As New Operations & Guest Experience Director

Experienced venue and events leader joins Newbury Racecourse to drive operational performance and enhance visitor experience

Newbury Racecourse is pleased to announce the appointment of Alex MacIntyre as its new Operations and Guest Experience Director. Bringing over 13 years of experience from Saracens Rugby Club, Alex joins with a proven track record in venue compliance, operational efficiencies, stakeholder management, and delivering exceptional event-day experiences.

During his tenure at Saracens, Alex played a pivotal role in several major initiatives, including supporting the £25 million redevelopment of the West Stand in 2022. He worked closely with the project team throughout the design and construction phases, ensuring seamless operational continuity for match days and events during the build.

Alex’s leadership also extended to overseeing in-house catering operations at StoneX Stadium, focusing on enhancing the fan experience and boosting food and beverage revenue across both hospitality and general admission offerings.

A passionate follower of cricket, football, and rugby, Alex is deeply committed to live sport and understands what it takes to deliver unforgettable experiences for guests and fans alike.

Speaking about his new role, Alex MacIntyre said: “I am hugely excited by the opportunity to join the team at Newbury Racecourse and support the ongoing success and growth of the venue. As the racecourse continues to evolve as one of the UK’s premier destinations for racing and events, I’m eager to play a part in building on its strong heritage while helping to drive forward new initiatives that enhance the experience for visitors and stakeholders alike.
