Highclere Thoroughbred Racing Syndicate – Owning A Racehorse

Highclere Thoroughbred Racing hosted their Yearling Parade last week. We spoke to them about the benefits of being in a racing syndicate.

Last week we went to visit Highclere Stud for their Annual Yearling Parade.

Owning a racehorse is a dream for many, but as we all know, it is not the most affordable of sports! Highclere Thoroughbred Racing are a syndication company who offer shares in a racehorse, meaning that you can get all the benefits of ownership for a fraction of the cost.

The Annual Yearling Parade showcases Highclere Thoroughbred Racing’s sales purchases, and is the perfect chance for share owners and prospective buyers to view the yearlings.

Thirteen beautiful yearlings were shown off at the parade, with HTR’s Harry Herbert and Jake Warren talking through why they purchased each horse. Harry stated that this selection of yearlings were “certainly the best pedigrees that we have ever assembled”.

After the parade, attendees get the chance to view the horses up close, chat to their grooms and ask any questions they may have to the Highclere team before they purchase a share.

This is followed by a delicious 3-course meal curated by Harry Herbert’s wife who is a celebrity chef and writer. It gives a brilliant insight into what experience Highclere owners receive when becoming part of a syndicate, including mornings on the gallops, a private box at Newbury, and many social events throughout the year.

Highclere Thoroughbred Racing are much-valued sponsors of the Racecourse’s and play a crucial role in encouraging more people to come and try racing, whether they’re interested in the social aspect, the horses, or everything in between. Racing has something for everyone!

Watch the video to hear us chat to Highclere’s founder, Harry Herbert, about what’s involved in owning a racehorse.
