Exciting Autumn Schedule Ahead At Newbury Racecourse
A crowd of more than 10,000 enjoyed this month’s Weatherbys Super Sprint Day at Newbury Racecourse before dancing the night away to Sigala, as Newbury’s summer of music got underway in style.
After a breakout performance on the track from Caburn to win the fast and furious Weatherbys Super Sprint in impressive style, music and racing fans were treated to a memorable set from the award-winning DJ and super producer on Saturday 20th July.
It’s been a busy July at Newbury with the Racecourse’s Summer Evening Series with Hits Radio also taking centre stage. The three-night series – which was presented in partnership with Hits Radio for the first time in 2024 – saw three raceday parties arrive at the Racecourse with evening racing complemented by live music, themed food and drink as well as a big afterparty. The series featured The Garden Party (4th July), The Wild Wild West (11th July) and The Beach Club (25th July) and will return in 2025.
The action doesn’t stop at Newbury once July ends, with one of Britain’s most successful rappers of all time, Dizzee Rascal, headlining the Racecourse’s Party in the Paddock stage on BetVictor Hungerford Day on Saturday 17th August. After Group 2 action on the track with the BetVictor Hungerford Stakes, the crowd is set to go ‘bonkers’ as Dizzee performs live. Tickets – which entitle admission to the afternoon’s racing and Dizzee’s live performance – are available from £50 for Adults and £30 for Under 18s with discounts for those in attending in groups of seven or more.
And while Dizzee Rascal brings the curtain down on a summer of music at Newbury, there is much more to come this autumn. Harry Walklin, Marketing Director at Newbury Racecourse said: “We’re in the midst of a busy summer schedule here and there’s lots to look forward to throughout autumn too. The Dubai Duty Free International Weekend and BetVictor Flat Finale with Oktoberfest are particular highlights with lots to get excited about across two big weekends. Early Bird tickets are currently available for all of autumn’s racedays with those booking early guaranteeing themselves the very best deal.’’
The Dubai Duty Free International Weekend – featuring the Listed Dubai Duty Free Cup, Group 3 Dubai International Airport World Trophy Stakes and Group 2 The Dubai Duty Free Mill Reef Stakes – returns on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st September. Top class racing is guaranteed on the track and there’s a whole host of entertainment to look forward to off the track too. Activities will include behind the scenes tours offering fascinating insight and exclusive access to unseen areas of Newbury Racecourse, live music, plus an opportunity to sample Arabic delicacies and win prizes at the Dubai Duty Free Marquee.
Newbury’s flat season concludes courtesy of the BetVictor Flat Finale with Oktoberfest on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th October, with two feature Group 3 races, the BetVictor Horris Hill Stakes and the BetVictor St Simon Stakes as well as The Highclere Thoroughbred Racing Radley Stakes (Listed Race).
Alongside the racing Newbury Racecourse will transform into a traditional Bavarian party complete with bierkeller, steins and themed food – including bratwurst and pretzels – with oompah bands providing entertainment. Racegoers are encouraged to enjoy everything on offer in their finest lederhosen.
