Confirmed Runners and Riders for the 2024 Coral Challow Novices’ Hurdle
Seven runners and riders have been declared for this year’s Coral Challow Novices’ Hurdle, featuring some formidable contenders tackling the Berkshire track, currently Good to Soft on the Hurdle course.
The New Lion comes into the race fresh from a commanding win at Newbury Racecourse on 30th November, where he pulled away to claim victory by 9 lengths over the Nicky Henderson-trained Califet En Vol, who finished second.
It’s Hard To Know makes his racecourse debut for trainer Ben Pauling, who previously secured his first win in this prestigious ÂŁ100,000 fixture back in 2015 – a victory that marked his first Grade 1 success. Following two consecutive wins together, jockey Ben Jones partners with It’s Hard To Know, aiming to extend their winning streak.
Paul Nicholls and Harry Cobden – a powerful duo at Newbury Racecourse – return with the unbeaten Regent’s Stroll, who was last seen at the course on 29th November, securing a comfortable victory by 9½ lengths.
Wendigo, trained by Jamie Snowden, is one to watch for the Racing Syndicate and Newbury Racecourse Members. With Gavin Sheehan in the saddle, Wendigo enters the Coral Challow Novices’ Hurdle for his first race representing Newbury Racecourse Members, who hold shares in the horse through a partnership with the Racing Syndicate. This fantastic initiative granted all Newbury Racecourse Members a free share in Wendigo, courtesy of the Racing Syndicate. To find out more about our memberships, please click the button below.
