Gates open 10.30am
First Race 1.15pm & Last Race 4.05pm
Craig David will perform at approx. 4.45pm, finishing at approx. 6.15pm.


Racing: There will be seven races throughout the afternoon.

Weather: The forecast is for a bright sunny day and high temperatures this Saturday, so please come prepared for the heat with plenty of sun cream and hats. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Racegoers may also bring in a sealed 500ml bottle of water and there will be plenty of free water available at all the bars. Make sure you stay hydrated.

What’s On:

The Rhododendron Garden: Located in the Grandstand Enclosure, this undercover area has ample seating and is a good spot to relax and enjoy the day, whilst listening to live acoustic music.

Trips to the Start: Get up close to the action and join former jockey David Crosse on trips to the start where you can see the horses sprint out of the stalls! Meet 20 minutes before the race left hand side of the weighing room in the Grandstand Enclosure on selected races.

Please read the following important information regarding your attendance and access to the racecourse:

Entry to the Racecourse

  • All parking is free across the site and is in Car Part 1 (Members/Hospitality/Premier Only)
  • Car Park 4/5 (All Ticket Holders) and Grandstand ticket holders
  • We take a zero tolerance policy on anti-social behaviour, and on the use of drugs. To ensure a smooth arrival, please be aware that drug detection dogs and bag searches will be in operation on all entrances.
  • Sealed bottles of water will be allowed in up to 500ml and there will be plenty of hydration stations at every bar and free water available throughout the day. Please remember to stay hydrated with this expected heat and we recommended a soft drink between alcoholic beverages.
  • For those feeling overwhelmed, or looking for some peace and quiet, our Quiet Zone will be in place throughout the day, as demonstrated on the map below. There will be no alcohol permitted in this area.
  • Please note, we are now cashless across the site for all tickets, food and drink purchases, as well as racecards, so please bring your payment card (or smart-phone payment system). On-course bookmakers and the tote will still accept cash, with a limited number of cash machines around the site.

Dress Code

  • We encourage racegoers to dress smartly. Fashion trainers are permitted, as are tailored shorts. No ripped jeans or vests. Flip-Flops and sandals are permitted.
  • Stay cool and comfortable.
  • Fancy dress is only allowed in the Grandstand Enclosure. Please note that Newbury Racecourse reserves the right to refuse access to anyone in fancy dress that may cause offence.

The Concert

  • Craig David will perform after racing has concluded, at approx 5.15pm (subject to change). This will last approx 90 minutes.
  • This will be a standing concert, and the Party in the Paddock stage will be located in the Grandstand Enclosure. Please be aware there is limited undercover viewing areas.
  • For those that have purchased close proximity tickets, you will be able to collect your wristband from the designated exchange point, as demonstrated on the map below. Children under 18 are not allowed in this area.
  • Free bottles of water will be handed out over the pit.
  • An accessible viewing platform will be available but this will be on a first come, first served basis and will be for one person and one carer only. We cannot guarantee you a position. If you have purchased a disability ticket, you should have received separate communications regarding this.
  • A designated Family Zone will be available for families wishing to enjoy the concert in a more peaceful environment. You will only be able to access this area if you are with a child under 18, with soft drinks available to purchase.
  • There will be a shuttle bus which runs from 6.30pm until 9pm offering free travel to Newbury train station.
