Newbury Racecourse has been named as a finalist for the Racecourse Association Showcase Awards, which celebrate excellence and innovation at racecourses, it was announced yesterday.  ‘Uniquely Newbury’, a programme focused on transforming engagement with customers, has been nominated in the Operational Excellence category. The award ceremony is due to take place at Ascot Racecourse on Thursday, November 12.

Newbury Racecourse Chief Executive Julian Thick commented: “Engaging with our customers is something we are passionate about at Newbury. Uniquely Newbury was launched earlier this year to ensure we focus on this across all parts of our business. We are delighted that it has been recognised by the judging panel and are looking forward to the event next month.”

The independent judging panel for the award comprised: Alan Park (Operations Director, Center Parcs UK), Rebecca Joy (Group Guest Services and Hospitality Director, European Tour and Ryder Cup Europe), Jenny McGee (Director of Enterprise, VisitEngland), Steve Brice (Chief Executive, Pharaoh Global), Will Collinson (UK Director of Client Engagement, Corbis) and Paul Duffy (Racehorse Owners Association Council).
