Free entry for racegoers aged 22 and under on Al Shaqab Lockinge Day

Al Shaqab Racing and Newbury Racecourse have once again teamed up to offer free Grandstand entry to all racegoers aged 22 and under and to students with a valid NUS card on Al Shaqab Lockinge Day, Saturday, May 14, 2016.

The offer, which was launched last year to celebrate the inaugural Al Shaqab Lockinge Day, is aimed at attracting young people to this outstanding day of Flat racing, with £750,000 prize money on offer and live music after racing.

Harry Herbert, Al Shaqab Racing Manager, said: “Sheikh Joaan al Thani, the owner of Al Shaqab Racing, is passionate about creating the next generation of horseracing fans. We hope that plenty of young people will take up this great offer and enjoy the fantastic racing and atmosphere on offer at Newbury on Al Shaqab Lockinge Day.”

Andy Clifton, Head of Communications at Newbury Racecourse, added: “Both Newbury and Al Shaqab are keen to get more young people involved in racing. We hope that giving students and people under 23 a great day out at one of British Flat racing’s premier days free of charge will ignite their enthusiasm for the sport.”

People aged 22 and under or students who wish to take advantage of this offer must register online in advance via the ticket booking system on the Newbury Racecourse website, using the promotional code U23FREE to book a full price Grandstand ticket. The offer is limited to one ticket per person and photo ID or a valid NUS card will be required to collect the ticket on the day. Full instructions can be found at: www.newburyracecourse.co.uk/u23

Under 18s are admitted free on Al Shaqab Lockinge Day with no need to pre-register.
