And they’re off… Living At The Racecourse opens show home

David Wilson Homes’ exciting development at Newbury Racecourse opens its newly completed show home and marketing suite to the public on Saturday 27th April 2013.

The unique housing development is a collection of 1500 new homes built inside 300 acres of prestigious racecourse grounds, giving residents an address and view like no other. The first phase of housing in the Western Area feature a choice of red brick ‘Berkshire’ family homes set in traditional crescents amongst matured oak trees, akin to a London Square. The first floor living spaces offer spectacular views over Stroud Green and the Racecourse’s beautiful grounds.

Hundreds of prospective buyers have already registered their interest in the development, which also features new transport links into the town and main access routes by road, rail walking and cycling paths along the nearby canals to create simple access for pedestrians.

Paul Crispin, Managing Director for David Wilson Homes Southern talks in more detail about what people can expect:

“We are delighted with the interest from families, first time home owners, young professionals and of course racing fans for this one-of-a-kind housing development. The combination of new 2, 3, 4 and 5 bed family houses along with airy trackside apartments offering uninterrupted views of the straight mile make this a sought after living destination that will appeal to all types of buyer. This development will deliver much needed new homes to both local buyers and those moving out of the city to towns such as Newbury which offers a mix of good schools and picturesque countryside. Significant upgrade work is also being carried out on the Racecourse’s own train station providing faster connection to London and making living at the racecourse a great commuter choice.”

Sarah Hordern, Joint Managing Director, Newbury Racecourse explains;

“This development is unique in both its location and its living style. Housing design is in keeping with the style of the racecourse architecture and the surrounding houses, and residents interested in horse racing will be able to take a stroll to the races right on their doorstep.”

Those quick off the mark could be living at the racecourse this summer, with the first of the Western Area family homes available to reserve now, for completion in a few months time. Prices range from £295,000 to £458,000 and with the government’s new Help to Buy scheme you can move in for much less. The first 100 houses sold will also benefit from 1 year’s membership of The Racecourse, Newbury.
